The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) recruits and places volunteers that are 55 years of age or older in non-profit and public agencies throughout Christian, Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Trigg counties.  RSVP is America's largest network for people age 55 and older.

RSVP offers a full range of volunteer opportunities with thousands of local and national organizations. With RSVP, you choose how and where you want to serve. PACS provides insurance that protects you while volunteering, and mileage reimbursement is provided.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs of Pennyrile Allied Community Services are supported agencies of the United Way. Additional funding for RSVP is provided by The Corporation for National and Community Service; Fiscal Courts in Christian, Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Trigg counties, the cities of Cadiz, Dawson Springs, Greenville, Hopkinsville and Madisonville.



Free Income Tax Preparation                                                           

The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Program provides free tax help to individuals of any age with priority given to individuals sixty (60) and older. Tax preparation and counseling services are provided by RSVP volunteers in several counties in the Pennyrile area. The Internal Revenue Service funds the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program. All TCE volunteers are well qualified, having received training and testing in order to receive their certification to prepare tax forms.

Residents of Hopkinsville and Christian County may call (270) 873-8733, Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 am until noon for more information and to schedule an appointment to have their taxes prepared by a trained volunteer.

Residents of all other Pennyrile area counties may contact your local RSVP office or Senior Citizens Center for locations, dates and times this service will be provided in your area. Please note that this program may not be available in all counties served by Pennyrile Allied Community Services, Inc. The services are also provided on an appointment only, first come, first served basis.
